Nothing

This sad state of being
aggravates me to no end.
The form of my intent buried, unseen.
My mind wants what it can't have.
and my life; on the road to nothing
There is no rehearsal; and no retakes
This is what you have
and this what you'll get
this ordinary life bleeds me
while the truth promises no solace
and these that I hold so dear
just seem to disappear
and I try to hold on
but the rain in my head makes everything slip
I cry out for attention
but no one has an ear to lend.
I want to be someone else
but I know that this is not true
Now, I know what to feel
it makes it no easier.
I know how things will play out
I will do what I have to do
and then there will be nothing.

HNY

I stare at the Setting December sun,
its seen so many of these.
For some, its a time of happiness.
For some it's just a tease

There is a world, that, I've been told
where people seem to breathe
But what am I? cause truth be told
a man who cannot be.

leif

And we are all victims
aren't we?
sailing in a sinking boat
the end is certain
its only the 'when' that is not
and we go about
pretending like this is not true,
and instead of helping our fellow passengers,
we seem intent on pushing their heads down
so that they drown faster than us,
like as if that will buy us some time.
And when our last breath leaves our body,
we know the truth and cant ignore it any longer
and it is at this time that we repent
and ask for more time and another chance
at doing things right.
But we will be denied this
for it is a little too little
a little too late.
And we got what we deserved.

me

Ignore the ugliness
and all you're left with, is me,
'cause this is exactly
who I wanted to be.
I may not have what I want,
I may not have what I need
but at least in my heart of hearts
I am absolutely free.

Pale Blue Universe.

I have written about our pale blue dot on earlier occasions. But this is an ode to my planet, as heartfelt as my mediocre poetic talent allows it to be.

Ode

Nothing as calming
and welcoming
as the photograph
of our beautiful little planet,
as it hurtles through space,
shielding us from the harsh realities
of the universe,
this is my home
and yours, and everyone Else's.
I love our planet.
There may be many more like it,
but this one is ours
and I am a part of it just as it is a part of me.
We are by nature ungrateful.
Yes, cynical is what I am.
And we don't deserve such a forgiving planet
who shelters us and gives us food and
makes life possible for us.
We pollute her,
and slowly but surely obliterate her
beauty
with our crass symbols of 'civilization' and
yet she tolerates it.
It is almost as if
we deliberately
want to destroy the delicate balance
that makes our planet
the life nurturing entity that it is,
and yet she remains
as hospitable as ever.
We have but one planet,
it is a shame that we won't realize this
until it is too late.

Here:

That is the international space station, passing in front of the moon. So, I hear you say that it is a unique snap, so what? Aren't we talking about the earth here?

If you will notice, the space station seems to have a bluish tint, that is earthlight. Your representation for the rest of the universe. The bright bluish warmth of tranquility.

[Sorry, felt like ranting.]
