Your Job

Are you happy with your job ?

If yes, then good for you, and if its really the way you feel, then please do drop in your details, for in my (almost)quarter century of existence I have never met someone who was\is. This is not to say that there is no one who isn't happy with his\her job, heck there are quite a few jobs which some lucky people do have. I would kill, (yes and I do NOT mean that metaphorically) to get a job like that, some examples which come to my mind being: A photographer for National Geographic or An editor for a critically acclaimed Indie magazine. I am not talking of these kinds of jobs, I am talking about the more generic Monday-Friday 9-5 8 Job, like say, programming ? or Portfolio management etcetera etcetera with an asshole for a boss whose ass you kiss generously in the hope that he won't step on your's, short-sighted colleagues who are the only people you are in contact with while at your job who help you bear the constant drudgery of your everyday middle class job, coffee breaks for that stress busting cigarette, Your frequent and lavish parties at an expensive restaurant. And all those things which seem to make your day at your job a little easier, yet these are the very things that make you nauseous and make you want to leave it far behind.

Now don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind getting that swanky little job after graduating from a hot-shot B school with its awe-inspiring, penis enlarging, acronym for a name, earning a 7 figure salary(INR), and its needless training trips abroad in first class, all that in exchange for JUST devoting a major portion of my waking life to the company, that's all.

Now, I shall paraphrase the previous paragraph:

Just a little Faustian deal and I'll get a hell lot of money and I can use that shit to buy myself anything I like and all I have to do is pay for it with my life ? Because for the duration of time that I work for the company, don't I cease being me and become just another nameless indistinguishable minion ? Is that all ? Is that all ?

But the most effective rebuttal I have found for my theory about selling your life is that; you need to put food on your table, or on your family(that is if you are a fan of bush's) you just can't argue that line.

Every line I write seems to merit its own explanation, and brevity is something I never learned but I shall leave it at the following:
